Title: Where are we headed ?
Well if you had told me I would be making nappies a couple of years ago I would have placed a bet- no way!!! Anyhow I am and enjoying every minute of it with Matt (DH). My passion for sustainability and natural fibres and food sources is growing like a disease. I am now a fabric addict.
We have also made wonderful friends and contacts in the hemp industry and lots of new uses for hemp will emerge over the next fewyears. Stay tuned.

Title: The Journey
It has been quite a while since I have added to my blog and that is bececause I have been ultra absorbed in the doing and not the reflecting upon it. This journey motivated by passion has seen us go from buying products to sell, to actually making some of our own and that has been a learning curve. Now that we have "Cindy the Indy"- our industrial sewing machine my husband navigates, who knows what we will be producing ourselves in the future. The foray into hemp nutritional products is also an exciting one for us and we hope for you, our wonderful customers and I can't begin to even imagine where we will be in a few years time. Still doing what we are doing I hope not being motivated by money but by the way of life we choose to create and the people we have in our lives.

Title: Material World.
There's a song called "Material Girl" I think. I can't remember who sings it. I am a material girl as there is going to be fabric, fabric and more fabric landing on my doorstep in the next week or so. Bamboo Velour, Bamboo towelling, Organic printed cotton, Hemp/Organic Cotton Jersey, Hemp/Cotton Stretch Terry and more I think. More soakers - from Merri and from my great Aunty. They help boost up her funds as their is not much left over after the pension pays all the bills. Then the postie will be bringing Sandmans, Snappis, Wool Wash and Lanolin in it its forms, Men's hats, Hemp Protien Powder...................................... I think I will camp down by the mailbox so I can get at the parcels quicker.
There's nothing wrong with me except an addiction of the right kind!

So many new products have arrived over the last 2 months that I can't keep pace with listing them all and many more to come. The Cert organic wool I can't wait for. Its in the mail. Yahoo. Every morning I wait for the mailman and packages never come quick enough. The postie knows I love him.

At last a new selection of men's shirts have arrived and I can now also gain quick access to them so if you don't see what you want, just ask and it shall be found. So dress up boys. These shirts are so good!!

Title: What a Hoot- GDUNH
February is finally here and so is the great Down Under Nappy Hunt. The Modern Cloth Nappy World is out on the cyberspace town late at night trawling from site to site of the 60 businesses including this one who have sponsored the hunt by providing prizes and hiding icons somewhere on the website. Those that find them all go into the draw for prizes and for lesser icon finds, lesser value prizes. The organisers of this event deserve a medal for going beyond the call of duty. Here I am late at night looking at forum conversations of the frustrated hunters and seeing thes tats counter rising. What a hoot. It is like the crazy car rally but instead of the focus being cars it is just repllaced by a nappy icon.

Title: A Hempy New Year to you all - Roll on 2007
Boy I am excited about the new Year. With a larger range of organic wool soakers being added to the soaker range and the patterns that will reveal themselves, the addition of the Hemp Body care range soon and adult clothing being made available on the website instead of only for my market and "physical" network of customers and other beautiful natural fibre things I haven't even come across yet but am bound to sell when I find them, 2007 will a wonderful year.

Jute being a sustainable plant fibre has been focused in the beautiful but small range of puppets I added to the website today. So many have sold prior I thought they had to be exposed to a wider audience so will try and keep them online for sale. I love them myself

How proud are we. Merri is a knitaholic and an artistic one at that and we are so excited about offering organic soakers (exept for the knitting needles she knitted them on). Coloured organic ones are still to come so be patient.

Title: Bicycles on your feet.
For young girls, I am delighted to have quite a few pairs (but limited for now) of children's rainbow hemp sandals YES THEY HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED. They are so beautiful but we don't make any in Aus- We could! (hint hint). And what recycling. The soles are made from recycled bicycles. this means the children might run faster.

I jusr got an email asking did I want to sell woolShorties and of course I just dais yes didn't I. When will it all stop. Never I hope. They are great especiall as a mid range between our short soakers aqnd the longies that I am sure will be available very soon.

Title: Much ado about all that's new.
Hi all,
I've been busy today photographing all the new items now in stock. These include the hemp/organic cotton muslin washcloths, the Newborn Hemp/Organic cotton T and pants sets ( limited stock). Yes!! the organic soakers are now available in 3 sizes. the samll boosters you now can finally view after all this time and we now have tote bags in the "Other hemp products" category. I'm now having the rest of the afternoon off to go and do something with the children.

Title: Keep an Eye out for us in Toowoomba
Well we'll be off to Toowoomba in March to attend the Natural Baby Expo and are really looking forward to showcasing all the baby products. Don't worry all you adults- Hemp will be coming your way in more clothing and accessory choices over time. I really love getting out and meeting mums and mums-to-be and showing how motherhood can be a much more natural process. Hope to see you on the 17/18th March at Toowoomba. The Wool care products have arrived but alas, one bottle of liquid lanolin had leaked everywhere so I spent the next hour cleaning lanolin from everywhere. I now have the softest hands.

Our Baby dresses and bloomers are now available and mum and I are like two proud mothers. They made their debut at the natural Baby xpo and people loved them. I wish my baby was still young enough to wear them but she will be in store for some fittings as we develop our children's range over time so stick with us on our journey in bringing everything Hemp to you.

Title: Natural Baby Expo
On the weekend of the 7th and 8th of October, Sustainble Hemp Products showcased our Baby products at the Natural Baby Expo at the RNA showgrounds in Brisbane with resounding success. The interest shown, has reinforced that people are supportive of natural alternatives and let us hope that they become the only alternatives someday. Thank you to all who helped make the weekend special for Merri (the queen of Knitting) and myself.
